ISRO chief S Somanath addresses after XPoSat satellite successfully launched.

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), in its space exploration first space mission of 2024, launched the X-ray Polarimeter Satellite (XPoSat) on Monday, January 1. The satellite lifted off at 9:10 am from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh.

Through this satellite, India will become the second country in the world after the United States to send a specialized astronomy observatory to study black holes and neutron stars in our galaxy.

After the Chandrayaan-3 and Aditya L1 missions by the Indian space division, this will be the following memorable step towards space investigation by the country.

“The new year has begun with the launch of the PSLV, and we will have an exciting time ahead. This year has just begun, and we will have many more launches. Besides, 2024 is going to be the year of Mission Gaganyaan,” said ISRO chairperson S Somanath.

XPoSat is operating within normal health parameters, and power generation has successfully commenced, according to ISRO.
